This portrait, Elliott and Midnight Remembered, was done as a gift for Elliott Hearing's mother, Cynthia. Elliott, 16, drowned at Cannon Beach, Oregon, July 3, 2007.  His horse perished in a winter storm that hit the coast five months later.  I met Cynthia at The Cannon Beach Stormy Weather Art Festival, November 2008, and learned of her loss.  The unveiling of this portrait was held at The Cannon Beach Hotel, May 2, 2009 during The Cannon Beach Spring Unveiling.

Client Comment:

"I don't think Jean-Marie will ever fully know how precious this portrait is. When I look at the painting I want to brush the hair from his brow. He looks as if he is ready to speak. To capture of essence of my loving boy in such a wondrous way is a gift that is not often seen. My love and gratitude go out to Jean-Marie. I would never have imagined putting love on a canvas the way she does."   - Cynthia Elliott, Cannon Beach, Oregon
